ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Opposition Leader Omar Ayub confirmed on Thursday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had submitted a dossier and a letter to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission.
Speaking on Samaa TV’s program Nadeem Malik Live, Ayub stated that the letter, addressed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, was also shared with the IMF delegation, along with a report from Petten and a covering letter.
“The letter and dossier outlined concerns regarding governance, rule of law, and transparency,” Ayub said, emphasizing that human rights violations were also highlighted. He added that the dossier contained evidence related to alleged electoral rigging.
The opposition leader further mentioned that the letter addressed key incidents from November 26 and May 9, particularly involving the PTI founder and political prisoners.
Ayub revealed that PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar and Ali Zafar were scheduled to meet the IMF mission separately to present relevant facts.
Recalling a previous meeting between an IMF delegation and PTI founder Imran Khan two years ago, Ayub noted that Khan had stressed the importance of transparent elections, which he claimed had not been conducted.
