Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam achieved another remarkable milestone on Friday during the tri-series final against New Zealand at the National Bank Stadium. The 30-year-old became the latest Pakistani cricketer to surpass 6,000 runs in One Day Internationals (ODIs).
With 34 half-centuries and 19 centuries to his name, Babar’s consistency and dominance in the format continue to shine. He is now the 11th Pakistani batter to reach the 6,000-run mark, joining an elite group led by Inzamam-ul-Haq (11,701 runs), Mohammad Yousuf (9,554 runs), and Saeed Anwar (8,824 runs).
In another historic achievement, Babar equaled former South African batsman Hashim Amla’s record as the joint-fastest to reach 6,000 ODI runs, both achieving the feat in just 123 innings.
