Pakistani drama channels have reached new heights in the past five years, with their content and global audience growing significantly. These dramas have gained widespread popularity, thanks in large part to social media. Shows like Ishq Murshid on Hum TV, Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum on ARY, and Kaffara on Geo have garnered millions of views per episode, showcasing their massive reach.
YouTube has become a profitable platform for these channels, with all their content being uploaded to the site. This not only expands their audience but also creates an additional revenue stream. In a conversation with YouTuber Talha Ahad, actress Hajra Yamin shared insights on the earnings of these channels. However, it was noted that the revenue is not shared with the artists.
Revealing the figures, Talha Ahad stated that, on average, a channel makes around 8-9 million dollars per month from YouTube, with the potential for even higher earnings. This has led many artists to call for royalties from the platforms.
