Gallup Survey Shows Steady Rise in Business Confidence

KARACHI – Gallup Pakistan has highlighted a positive shift in the country’s economic outlook, marking a gradual increase in business confidence.

This survey, the 14th edition of Gallup Pakistan’s quarterly Business Confidence Survey, was conducted across more than 30 districts and involved insights from 482 businesses, including small, medium, and large enterprises.

The survey results show a steady improvement in business sentiment, with 55% of respondents expressing a positive outlook for their businesses. Over the last six months, business confidence has risen by 10%, signaling that the economy is heading in the right direction.

The survey also indicated a 19% increase in business expectations for the future, pointing to a favorable trend. Perceptions of economic uncertainty decreased by 7%, and confidence in future business prospects grew by 36%.

Key factors contributing to this boost in confidence include a decline in inflation and interest rates, as well as fewer power outages. Notably, 56% of business owners reported no issues with load shedding. These findings suggest a renewed optimism within Pakistan’s business community.

Experts consider the Business Confidence Index a vital indicator of the business sector’s sentiment, which policymakers use to assess economic conditions and shape strategic decisions.
