RAWALPINDI – Pakistan’s security forces successfully eliminated 30 Khawarij in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted in the South Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Tuesday.
According to the military’s media wing, the operation was launched on February 17, 2025, in the Sararogha area following intelligence reports about the presence of Khawarij.
“During the operation, security forces effectively targeted the terrorists’ hideout, resulting in the elimination of 30 Khawarij,” the ISPR stated.
A sanitization operation is underway to clear the area of any remaining terrorists. The ISPR reaffirmed the security forces’ unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism from the country.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the security forces for their success in neutralizing 30 Khawarij in Sararogha, South Waziristan.
In their statements, both leaders reiterated their determination to continue the fight against terrorism until it is completely eliminated from Pakistan.
President Zardari emphasized that the entire nation stands united against terrorism, while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif pledged to thwart the malicious intentions of the enemies of humanity. He reaffirmed that the sacrifices of the nation’s brave sons would never be in vain.
15 Khawarij Eliminated in KP Operations
Earlier on Saturday, security forces neutralized 15 Khawarij in two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), while four personnel embraced martyrdom.
As per ISPR, an operation was conducted in the Hathala area of Dera Ismail Khan district based on intelligence reports. Security forces engaged the terrorists, killing nine, including high-value targets (HVTs) Farman alias Saqib, Amanullah alias Toori, Saeed alias Liaqat, and Bilal. These militants were involved in multiple terrorist activities and were highly wanted by law enforcement agencies.
In another operation in the Miran Shah area of North Waziristan, six Khawarij were neutralized.
However, during the intense exchange of fire, Lieutenant Muhammad Hassaan Arshaf (21, resident of Lahore) embraced martyrdom along with three soldiers: Naib Subedar Muhammad Bilal (39, Dera Ismail Khan), Sepoy Farhat Ullah (27, Lakki Marwat), and Sepoy Himat Khan (29, Mohmand).
The security forces reaffirmed their commitment to eliminating terrorism and ensuring peace and stability across the country.
