Islamabad – In a major crackdown on human trafficking and its facilitators, 27 FIA personnel have been arrested, 48 dismissed, and two sent on forced retirement, Dunya News reported Tuesday.
The action targeted FIA employees from Gujranwala, Faisalabad, and Quetta zones. Meanwhile, FIA Gujranwala also apprehended two alleged fugitive human traffickers.
The suspects, identified as Nasir Mahmood and Adnan Ali, were arrested from Sialkot and Sarai Alamgir. Mahmood had reportedly taken Rs 2.7 million from a citizen, promising to send him to Greece.
Additionally, police arrested a member of the notorious Chinioti Group, bringing the total number of arrested suspects to eight. The group had allegedly collected Rs 40 million from 34 individuals under the guise of facilitating their travel to Europe.
