Sanam Saeed and Shaz Khan’s highly anticipated sports drama, The Martial Artist, finally has a release date after facing delays.
Originally set to hit theaters last month, the film’s release was postponed due to the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. Now, it is scheduled for an Eid Ul Fitr 2025 premiere.
The Martial Artist follows the journey of a Pakistani-American MMA fighter who reconnects with his roots to overcome personal and professional struggles. The film explores themes of ambition, identity, and redemption while offering a fresh take on the world of mixed martial arts (MMA).
Shaz Khan, who stars in, directed, and co-wrote the film, revealed that the idea originated from a short film he made about a boxer a decade ago. He expanded on that concept, weaving elements of Pakistan into the storyline.
The plot follows the protagonist’s dream of becoming the best martial artist in the world. However, unforeseen circumstances lead him down a troubled path, eventually bringing him to his grandfather, played by veteran actor Faran Tahir.
The film features an impressive ensemble cast, including Shaz Khan, Sanam Saeed, Faran Tahir, and Babar Peerzada. Known for his roles in Yaqeen Ka Safar and Parwaaz Hai Junoon, Shaz Khan takes on the dual role of actor and director.
