KARACHI: Shahzain Mari, accused of assaulting a citizen in Karachi’s Boat Basin area alongside his associates, has now been linked to the Mustafa Amir case.
Sources reveal that authorities have uncovered a connection between Shahzain Mari and Sahir Hassan, the son of renowned actor Sajid Hasan, who is currently in custody for his alleged involvement in the kidnap and murder of Mustafa Amir.
The ongoing investigation, led by the CIA team, has implicated Armaghan and Sahir Hassan, who were reportedly found in possession of narcotics. Further inquiry suggests that Shahzain Mari allegedly purchased drugs from the suspects, according to CIA sources.
It is worth noting that a group of armed men in a vehicle recently attacked and assaulted citizens in the Boat Basin area, causing widespread panic after CCTV footage of the incident went viral.

In the video, armed individuals can be seen reversing their car into another vehicle before stepping out with weapons and assaulting citizens in a separate car.
The complainant reported that six to seven armed men, seemingly intoxicated, carried out the attack on February 19 within the jurisdiction of Boat Basin police station.

Subsequent investigations identified Shahzain Mari, a resident of Balochistan, as the main suspect who deliberately rammed the vehicle. In response, South Zone Police launched overnight raids in the Defense area to track down the fugitive.
According to police officials, four security guards associated with Shahzain Mari have been arrested, and four Kalashnikov rifles were recovered from their possession. Meanwhile, the main suspect, Shahzain Mari, has reportedly fled to Quetta.
Earlier, the National Assembly Standing Committee on Interior directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) to probe Mustafa Amir’s murder case.
During the committee meeting, it was decided that the FIA Cyber Crime Wing should immediately initiate its investigation into the case. However, the Additional Secretary of the Interior Sindh cited the late receipt of the meeting’s agenda as the reason for not providing a detailed briefing.
