The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 kicks off in the United Arab Emirates, featuring 10 teams competing over an 18-day tournament.
The opening game sees Bangladesh face Scotland in the afternoon, followed by a highly anticipated clash between Pakistan and Sri Lanka later in the day at Sharjah.
Due to political unrest in Bangladesh, the International Cricket Council relocated the tournament to the UAE in August.
Ten teams will battle for the title, with the final set for October 20. Pakistan is grouped with Australia, India, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka in Group A, while Group B consists of Bangladesh, England, Scotland, South Africa, and the West Indies.
Australia, the dominant force in women’s cricket, will be the team to watch, having won six out of the nine previous editions, including the last three.
