ISLAMABAD – The government is poised to impose another financial strain on inflation-hit citizens, with electricity prices potentially rising by Rs. 1.59 per unit.
If approved, the hike could add Rs. 1.68 billion in additional costs for consumers. The request for the increase has been submitted for the fiscal year 2024-25.
The proposal also includes expenses related to employee loans, new hiring, legal charges, administrative costs, and office operations.
