The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold rose by Rs. 3,172, reaching Rs. 238,340 from Rs. 235,168, while 10 grams of 22-karat gold climbed to Rs. 218,479 from Rs. 215,570.
The price of per tola silver also saw an increase of Rs. 200, reaching Rs. 3,450, and 10 grams of silver rose by Rs. 171.47 to Rs. 2,957.
In the international market, the price of gold surged by $37, moving from $2,631 to $2,668, according to the Association.
On the domestic front, gold imports grew by 19.82% during the first four months of the current fiscal year compared to the same period last year, as reported by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
The gold imports for July-October 2024-25 were valued at $10.644 million, up from $8.883 million during the same months in 2022-23.
In terms of quantity, Pakistan imported 148 kilograms of gold, a 6.94% increase from the 138 kilograms imported in the same period last year.
On a year-on-year basis, gold imports surged by 32.32% in October 2024, totaling $2.096 million, compared to $1.584 million in October 2023.
However, in terms of quantity, gold imports in October 2024 declined by 9.29% to 24 kilograms, compared to 26 kilograms in October 2023.
Month-on-month, gold imports in October 2024 fell by 54.63%, down from $4.610 million in September 2024.
