The Suzuki Cultus, a popular choice for budget-conscious urban commuters, is expected to see a notable rise in its overall cost due to new tax regulations introduced by the Pakistani government.
These updated tax rules will affect both tax filers and non-filers purchasing the widely favored 1000cc car.
Despite a slight decline in popularity compared to earlier models, the Suzuki Cultus remains a favorite due to its compact design, fuel efficiency, and low maintenance costs, making it a preferred option for personal use and ride-hailing services like Uber and Careem.
Under the new tax regime, the tax burden on Suzuki Cultus buyers will vary based on their filer status. For the Cultus VXR, priced at Rs 3,858,000, tax filers will incur an additional Rs 38,580. Non-filers, however, will face a significantly higher additional tax of Rs 115,740.
For the higher-end Cultus VXL-AGS, priced at Rs 4,546,000, tax filers will see an extra charge of Rs 45,460, while non-filers will be required to pay an additional Rs 136,380.
These new taxes aim to enhance tax compliance and alleviate some of the financial pressure on the national treasury. Buyers should factor these additional costs into their budget when considering a new Suzuki Cultus.
