As of January 15, 2025, over 5.489 million cotton bales (5,489,818 bales) have been processed at ginning factories across Pakistan, reflecting a 33.52% decrease compared to the same period last year.
According to the Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) report, more than 5.489 million bales have undergone ginning. Cotton arrivals in Punjab were recorded at 2,686,521 bales, a 35.40% decrease from last year’s 4,158,606 bales.
In Sindh, 2,803,297 bales were recorded, marking a 31.62% drop from the 4,099,509 bales seen during the same period last year.
Arrivals in Balochistan stood at 156,500 bales.
Exporters and traders purchased 46,700 bales, while the textile sector bought 4,901,034 bales. The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) did not procure any cotton for the 2024-25 season. Additionally, there were 542,084 unsold bales in stock.
A total of 140 ginning factories are currently operational across the country.
