Pakistan Railways (PR) has officially begun manufacturing new train coaches locally, leveraging advanced technology transferred from China, as reported by state media.
The production of high-speed passenger coaches and goods wagons has commenced at workshops in Lahore and Islamabad, utilizing cutting-edge technology provided by China.
Chinese experts have significantly contributed to enhancing the technical expertise of PR engineers and technicians, empowering them to produce modern rail components domestically.
According to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), the Pakistan Railways Carriage Factory in Islamabad is set to assemble 184 new passenger coaches over the next three years. This initiative aims to improve the quality and capacity of Pakistan’s rail transport system.
