ISLAMABAD: On Wednesday, the Pakistani rupee strengthened by 8 paisa against the US dollar in interbank trading, closing at Rs 278.04 compared to the previous day’s Rs 278.12, according to ARY News.
In the open market, however, the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP) reported the dollar’s buying and selling rates at Rs 279.20 and Rs 280.70, respectively.
The Euro’s value rose by 18 paisa, ending at Rs 309.47, up from Rs 309.29 the previous day, as reported by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The Japanese yen fell by 3 paisa to Rs 1.95, while the British Pound saw an increase of 39 paisa, trading at Rs 366.97 compared to Rs 366.58 previously.
The Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal depreciated by 2 paisa and 3 paisa, closing at Rs 75.70 and Rs 74.07, respectively.
On September 16, the Pakistani rupee had gained 4 paisa against the US dollar, closing at Rs 278.12 in interbank trading. The dollar’s buying and selling rates in the open market were reported at Rs 278.90 and Rs 280.75.
According to the SBP, the Euro’s price had increased by 77 paisa to Rs 309.29 from Rs 308.52 the previous day.
