OGRA has proposed a reduction of Rs 2.49 per liter in petrol prices for the next 15 days, submitting a summary to the federal government.
The proposed cut follows a decline in global crude oil prices, with the government aiming to provide relief to the public.
If approved, the price of petrol will drop from Rs 257.13 to Rs 254.64 per liter.
High-speed diesel is also expected to see a significant decrease of Rs 9.11 per liter, bringing the new price down to Rs 258.84 from Rs 267.85.
Additionally, kerosene oil is set to be reduced by Rs 3.45 per liter, while light diesel may drop by Rs 5.60 per liter.
