Ratan Tata, chairman of one of India’s largest conglomerates, has been admitted to the ICU of a Mumbai hospital in critical condition.
Reports from Indian media indicate that the business tycoon was hospitalized on Wednesday, just days after he reassured the media that he was in “good spirits.”
As of now, Tata’s representative has neither confirmed nor denied the news regarding his ICU admission.
On October 7, Ratan Tata addressed rumors about his declining health through his social media accounts. He dismissed the concerns, stating, “there is no cause for concern. I remain in good spirits.”
Tata explained that his medical evaluations and hospital visits were routine due to his age. However, worries grew after a deterioration in his health.
The business tycoon urged both the public and media to refrain from spreading misinformation about his health status.
At 86 years old, Ratan Tata is a prominent figure in Indian industry. He served as chairman of Tata Sons, one of India’s largest and most influential conglomerates, from 1991 until 2012. Under his leadership, the Tata Group expanded globally, acquiring major companies like Tetley, Corus, and Jaguar Land Rover.
