Veteran actor Sajid Hasan has spoken out in defense of his son, Sahir Hasan, who was arrested in a drug case, claiming that the charges against him are false.
Calling the drug trafficking allegations “fabricated,” Sajid asserted that his son’s arrest was an attempt to divert public attention from the prime suspect, Armaghan, in the Mustafa Amir murder case.
“I strongly condemn this unlawful arrest,” Sajid stated, breaking his silence on the matter. He revealed that Sahir was taken into custody without a warrant, solely based on an accused person’s statement in the Mustafa Amir case.
His remarks came after a judicial magistrate sent Sahir to jail on judicial remand, following a request from the investigating officer for further inquiry.
An interrogation report alleged that Sahir struggled with drug addiction and was involved in drug dealing, with payments reportedly made through his father’s manager’s bank account. It also claimed that two other suspects, Bazil and Yahya, supplied drugs to Sahir via courier.
Sajid, however, rejected these claims, arguing that when no evidence was found against his son, the police fabricated an FIR to justify his arrest.
He expressed hope that the judiciary would recognize the “baseless case” and ensure justice prevails.
Additionally, Sajid criticized certain media outlets for what he termed as “unfair and irresponsible” reporting, urging them to maintain journalistic integrity and avoid spreading misinformation.
