LAHORE: Pakistani actress Nargis has withdrawn her domestic violence case against her husband, Inspector Majid Bashir, choosing to forgive him, as reported by ARY News.
The case, filed in November 2024, stemmed from allegations of physical abuse. Nargis lodged the complaint at the Defence police station, but her husband was later granted bail.
In a recent turn of events, Nargis submitted an affidavit in court, confirming their reconciliation. She stated that she forgave her husband following the intervention of family elders. As part of the agreement, the couple has decided to live separately for three years.
Known in the entertainment industry as Ghazala Idris, Nargis left showbiz after marrying Inspector Bashir. She now runs a beauty salon in Lahore.
In a related case, actor-host Ayesha Jehanzeb denied rumors of reconciliation with her husband, Haris Ali, following allegations of domestic violence. Confirming she has filed for divorce, Ayesha clarified her stance on social media through her daughter, Zoha Tauqeer.
Ayesha stated that while no charges were pressed against her husband for the sake of their children, there had been no reconciliation. “There has been no reconciliation, and there is no tolerance for domestic violence,” she said.
The Burns Road Kay Romeo Juliet actor emphasized that while legal action was avoided for her children’s benefit, her decision to file for khula remains firm.
