TV actress and morning show host Amna Malik has revealed the darker side of the media industry, expressing her decision to never allow her daughters to pursue a career in showbiz.
In a recent podcast interview with a digital magazine, Malik shared her concerns about the unethical practices prevalent in the industry. She stated that, despite her long career as an actor, she would never encourage her daughters to follow her path.
“I’ve been an actor for most of my life, but I would never want my children, especially my daughters, to enter showbiz,” Malik explained to the host.
She elaborated on the struggles within the industry, stating, “In our industry, no one becomes a star overnight. There are many challenges, including inappropriate messages, calls, harassment, and the way newcomers are treated. I can never accept anyone speaking to or looking at my daughters in such a manner.”
Malik also shared personal experiences of inappropriate advances, recalling, “I’ve received calls from people who wouldn’t approach me for work, but rather to ask me out for coffee. I had to tell them, ‘I don’t do coffee meetings, and you should keep things professional.’ Why should I have coffee with you?”
She firmly reiterated, “I would never want my daughters to go through this.”
It’s also noteworthy that the ‘Mayi Ri’ actress and her husband are proud parents of two daughters.
