Renowned Pakistani singer Atif Aslam recently made a personal revelation, admitting that he hasn’t listened to music in years. Known for his iconic tracks like “Aadat” and “Tera Hone Laga Hoon,” Atif shared this surprising fact in his latest vlog, Welcome to My Borderless World.
Reflecting on his early passion for music, Atif recalled his teenage years when he first discovered his love for singing. He described how, while living in an empty house, he ventured into an unoccupied upper room and began singing. “When I hit a high note, I was startled, wondering what just happened. I quickly closed the doors and came downstairs,” he recalled.
Though initially frightened by his own voice, Atif continued singing in private, keeping it a secret from others. Over time, he found mentors who guided him in singing, songwriting, and music production.
Looking back, Atif said, “I think I was 14 when I started pursuing singing.” He acknowledged the profound effect music has had on his life, stating, “Music has impacted me so deeply that I can’t imagine life without it. It would feel empty.”
Despite his deep connection with music, Atif revealed that he hasn’t been listening to it for several years. “Interestingly, I haven’t listened to music in many years. But recently, I’ve started enjoying it again,” he shared.
This new chapter in Atif’s journey coincides with the launch of Borderless World, a project aimed at uniting talented individuals from diverse creative fields, including musicians, lyricists, directors, and actors. The initiative will feature both new and classic songs over multiple seasons.
Atif emphasized that Borderless World is about collaboration, not competition. “It’s about bringing people together for the love of music,” he explained.
Earlier, Atif launched Borderless World to break barriers in the arts and offer a global platform for emerging musical talent. The launch event in Lahore brought together notable figures from various creative fields.
At the event, Atif described Borderless World as a space where musicians, poets, and artists could express their creativity without limitations. “This will be a realm with no creative boundaries where dreams transcend borders,” he said.
The event was attended by celebrities such as singers Sahir Ali Bagga and Bilal Saeed, actors Hamza Ali Abbasi and Saba Qamar, model-actor Emmad Irfani, and host Anoushey Ashraf. Filmmakers Bilal Lashari, Ammara Hikmat, and singer Shae Gill also showed their support for the initiative.
Borderless World aims to reshape the creative landscape by fostering collaboration and providing a platform for emerging global talent.
