Released in 2002, Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge featured a star-studded cast including Sushmita Sen, Arbaaz Khan, Inder Kumar, along with Salman Khan and Dia Mirza in lead roles. The film was recently re-released in theaters, receiving praise for Dia Mirza’s performance.
In a recent interview, Dia Mirza shared her experience working with Salman Khan during the shoot.
“I was a huge Salman Khan fan when I signed the film, and when we began working together, I would look at him every day in disbelief, thinking I can’t believe I’m actually working with this person whose films I watched repeatedly,” Mirza revealed.
She also recounted a memorable incident while shooting in Rajasthan.
“We were filming the song ‘Bindiya chamke choodi khanke’ in Rajasthan. One day, while we were heading back, a massive crowd of hundreds followed us, screaming and whistling. Salman and I were escorted into a car with security for our safety, as the area was packed with people. I’ll never forget how he made sure I got into the car first,” she recalled.
Mirza emphasized Salman Khan’s protective nature during the incident, saying, “The gender balance on sets back then was very different from today. It was a male-dominated environment, and unless there were female dancers, there were hardly any women. Salman was incredibly caring and protective, always looking out for me.”
