Meanwhile, Pakistan’s top-order batter, Saim Ayub, remains sidelined due to a right ankle fracture, with an expected recovery period of at least another month.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently shared an update on his condition, confirming that Ayub was progressing well and undergoing rehabilitation in England.
Following MRI scans, X-rays, and medical assessments, the PCB ruled him out for 10 weeks from his injury date of January 3. His availability for Pakistan’s New Zealand tour (March 16–April 5) remains uncertain, pending fitness tests.
Ayub’s injury also resulted in his exclusion from the Champions Trophy 2025 squad.
