Abbas Ashraf Awan, the brother of renowned actor Imran Ashraf, is a struggling Pakistani actor who gained recognition through his impressive performance in Hum TV’s popular drama Sabaat, where he portrayed a negative character that earned him admiration from fans. He has also appeared in dramas like Sawaal Anaa Ka Tha, Mastaani, and Mera Dil Meri Marzi. Currently, his performance in Hum TV’s Woh Ziddi Si is also being praised by viewers.
Abbas Ashraf Awan recently appeared on PTV Home’s talk show, where he shared insights about the highs and lows of being the sibling of a celebrity.
He explained, “One of the biggest challenges of being a celebrity sibling is that I’m often seen as an extraordinary actor simply because of my brother’s fame. While his name does offer certain advantages, I still have to audition for all my roles. The project I’m currently working on came to me after a year of his recommendation. I had to audition for it like any other actor. Auditions play a crucial role in securing roles, and it’s not as though I’ve been given special treatment because of his name; otherwise, I would have been part of every other project.”
