Film producer Ramesh Taurani has confirmed that Saif Ali Khan will lead the cast of Race 4.
While the actor had not officially announced his involvement until now, Taurani has shared insights about the exciting future of the series.
Production for the film is set to begin in 2025, though details about the rest of the cast and crew are still under wraps.
In a statement to an Indian media outlet, Ramesh said, “Saif will be returning to the Race franchise, and we are thrilled to have him on board. He delivered outstanding performances in the first two films. The movie will feature an ensemble cast, and we are in the process of finalizing the script and cast.”
Regarding the rest of the team, he added, “We haven’t selected a director yet. We will make an official announcement about the film before we start shooting, most likely next year.”
For context, the Race series began with its first installment in 2008, which starred Saif Ali Khan alongside Akshaye Khanna as two brothers.
The sequel, released in 2013, featured Saif opposite John Abraham as the antagonist. Both films were major box office successes, showcasing prominent female actors like Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif, and Deepika Padukone.
The third installment, released in 2018 and led by Salman Khan, did not perform well with audiences, largely due to its repetitive storyline.
Fans are now eagerly anticipating Saif Ali Khan’s return to the franchise and the action-adventure genre. Recently, he appeared in Devara alongside Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor, playing the series’ villain.
