Bollywood sensation Sidharth Malhotra will join Saif Ali Khan in the upcoming installment of the action franchise, “Race 4,” as confirmed by writer Shiraz Ahmed, who provided key details about the plot.
As previously reported, Indian film producer Ramesh Taurani was in discussions with Malhotra for the fourth film in the “Race” series, set to begin production next year.
Writer Shiraz Ahmed, who has penned all the earlier installments, has now confirmed that Malhotra and Khan are set to lead the film, with shooting scheduled to start in January 2025. “The script is nearly complete, and the casting is finalized. Saif Ali Khan and Sidharth Malhotra’s involvement has already been announced. The rest of the cast will be revealed by Tips Films at the appropriate time,” he stated.
Discussing the plot and continuity, Ahmed added, “In ‘Race 4’, we are continuing the story and characters from ‘Race 1’ and ‘Race 2’. We’re returning to the same world established in the first two films.”
The first two films in the series, “Race” (2008) and “Race 2” (2013), directed by the duo Abbas-Mustan, featured Khan alongside Akshaye Khanna and John Abraham. The third installment, “Race 3,” was directed by Remo D’Souza and starred Salman Khan and Bobby Deol.
Ahmed noted that the director for the upcoming film has yet to be determined.
