Shahid Rafique Accuses Reema Khan of Fraud Over Film Investment
Reema Khan, a renowned former Pakistani film actor, director, and producer, is celebrated for her iconic performances in hit movies like Bulandi, Nikah, Haathi Mera Sathi, Chor Machaey Shor, and Love Main Gum. Although she has stepped away from the showbiz industry and is happily married, Reema often makes headlines due to controversies involving her colleagues and acquaintances.
Recently, Reema Khan has found herself in the spotlight again, this time due to allegations of fraud. An elderly man, Shahid Rafique, who previously worked in Qatar, claims to have invested in Reema’s film Love Main Gum. According to Rafique, this investment led to the current legal dispute.
Allegations from Shahid Rafique
Shahid Rafique alleges, “I returned to Lahore from Qatar in 2009 with plans to purchase property. During this time, I met Maira Khan, Reema Khan’s sister, who worked as a realtor. After discussing my intention to buy a plot, Maira persuaded me to invest in Reema Khan’s film Love Main Gum instead, promising substantial profits. She even facilitated a meeting with Reema, after which I transferred the money. While I checked a few plots, Maira declined to sell them and demanded additional funds for the film project.”
Claims of Financial Exploitation
Rafique further elaborated, “Reema Khan invited me to Malaysia, where the film’s cast was shooting. I stayed in the same hotel and helped finance the film’s completion. However, they kept demanding more money. Frustrated, I eventually asked for my money back. Reema agreed to a settlement but failed to repay me. I have all the necessary evidence. Instead, she filed a counter-case against me, accusing me of fraud. My case is still in court, but Reema has been avoiding court proceedings for over four years. Despite my trust in the judiciary, the delays are disheartening.”
The case remains unresolved, with both parties presenting conflicting narratives. The court proceedings will determine the outcome of this high-profile legal battle.
