Mathira Responds to Alleged Private Video Leak Amid Deepfake Controversy
Pakistani TV host and influencer Mathira Mohammad has found herself at the center of controversy after an alleged private video surfaced on social media. The leak follows similar scandals involving TikTok star Imsha Rehman and Indonesian e-sports personality Lydia Onic.
Several explicit clips, reportedly showing Mathira in compromising situations, have been circulating online. However, the authenticity of these videos remains unverified.
Reacting to the allegations, the 32-year-old influencer denied any involvement, accusing individuals of misusing her name and photoshoot images to create fake content.
“People are misusing my name and my photoshoot pictures, adding fake stuff. Please have some shame! Keep me out of this trashy nonsense,” Mathira wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
The incident has reignited discussions around deepfake technology and online data breaches. Mathira, who has a massive following of over two million on Instagram and 59,000 on X, is not only a TV host but also a model, dancer, singer, and actor.
Earlier this week, Pakistani TikTok star Imsha Rehman faced backlash after an alleged private video showing her in an intimate position went viral. Social media users accused her of seeking attention, leading Rehman to deactivate her accounts, citing overwhelming negativity.
Similarly, social media personality Minahil Malik was also embroiled in controversy after an alleged intimate video with her boyfriend circulated online. Declaring it fake, Malik lodged a complaint with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and temporarily deactivated her accounts.
Meanwhile, another explicit video purportedly involving Indonesian e-sports star Lydia Onic was leaked on November 15. The authenticity of the clip is yet to be confirmed.
These incidents have highlighted the growing misuse of technology to target public figures and raise concerns about privacy and cybersecurity in the digital age.
