Vikrant Massey reacts to Taapsee’s remark, “Hero Didn’t Matter.”

Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey has recently gained attention, especially following the success of 12th Fail. He addressed comments regarding the film’s lack of a major star. Taapsee Pannu had previously stated that the hero in Haseen Dillruba didn’t matter, a remark that caught the spotlight. The Sabarmati Report actor shared his thoughts on the matter, emphasizing how challenging it has become to simply “agree to disagree,” a trend he finds increasingly concerning.

In an interview with NDTV, Vikrant Massey clarified that he wasn’t offended by such comments. He acknowledged that 12th Fail didn’t feature a big star and didn’t achieve huge box-office success. However, he highlighted the positive feedback he received for his performance, noting that he hadn’t had a major solo hit yet.

He also spoke about the importance of healthy debates and the ability to disagree respectfully, pointing out how political differences and intolerance are increasingly impacting relationships, both online and offline. “You just can’t seem to agree to disagree anymore. That is disturbing,” he shared.

In a 2021 Netflix roundtable, Taapsee Pannu revealed she wasn’t bothered by the identity of the male co-star in Haseen Dillruba. She explained that while some actresses passed on the role due to the “grey” nature of the lead character, she was unfazed. “I was like, ‘Dude, it’s Haseen Dillruba. I don’t care about who the hero is,'” she said, adding that this approach allowed her to take on the role, unlike others.

Directed by Dheeraj Sarna, The Sabarmati Report stars Raashii Khanna, Ridhi Dogra, and Barkha Singh in key roles. The film, produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and Vikir Films, was released on November 15, 2024.

The trailer of The Sabarmati Report showcases Vikrant as a determined Hindi-speaking journalist striving to build a career in the media. His journey takes a dark turn when he uncovers that his senior, played by Ridhi Dogra, may have hidden crucial details about the Godhra train tragedy.
