Award-winning playwright Farhat Ishtiaq has been widely praised for Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, a reimagining of the classic love story where opposites attract. The show, which features a highly anticipated happy ending for the beloved MusJeena, has won hearts across borders.
In a recent interview with a digital magazine, Ishtiaq shared her thoughts on the characters that captivated audiences. She revealed that Sharjeena, played by Hania Aamir, was the true hero of the story.
“Mustafa was a brilliant guy, spoiled by his family, but it was Sharjeena who saw his potential and pushed him to be better,” she explained. “She was the real hero because she believed in him and helped him move beyond the label of being a ‘loser’.”
Ishtiaq continued, “She also helped him overcome his inferiority complex, making him realize his worth and supporting him as he worked toward his success.”
Talking about the complex nature of the characters, she added, “Neither Sharjeena nor Mustafa was portrayed as wrong or bad. I wanted the audience to relate to both, without blaming either of them.”
The immensely popular drama, which co-starred Fahad Mustafa, Hania Aamir, Emmad Irfani, and Naeema Butt, wrapped up its run this Tuesday with an unforgettable finale.
