50 shops shut for violating anti-smog SOPs in 24 hours

In the past 24 hours, authorities sealed 50 shops for violating anti-smog Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and imposed fines totaling Rs 20,000.

Details reveal that the Assistant Commissioner (AC) City inspected 480 locations, sealing one shop for violations. The AC Cantt checked 420 sites, issuing warnings to three shop owners for violations.

In Model Town, the AC inspected 634 locations, sealing 10 shops and imposing fines of Rs 20,000. The AC Raiwand checked eight places and sealed four shops, while AC Shalimar sealed seven shops. AC Ravi inspected 335 sites and sealed six shops for violations.

Additionally, AC Allama Iqbal Town inspected 55 locations, sealing three shops, while AC Wagah sealed seven shops. AC Nishtar checked 200 places, sealing five shops, and AC Sadar inspected 150 sites, sealing eight shops.

District Commissioner (DC) Lahore, Syed Musa Raza, urged citizens to cooperate in reducing smog and protect vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and the sick from the harmful effects of pollution. He emphasized that strict actions would be taken against SOP violations.
