KARACHI: Sky Wings to Launch Air Ambulance Service in Pakistan Following Edhi Foundation’s Lead

After the Edhi Foundation, Sky Wings, a private aviation company, has announced its plans to launch an air ambulance service in Pakistan, ARY News reported.

Sky Wings’ air ambulance, a Piper Seneca aircraft, has already arrived in Karachi and will be used to transport patients from airports to the city. The service aims to ensure the rapid transfer of patients along with a medical team, ensuring timely medical care.

Imran Aslam Khan, CEO of Sky Wings Aviation, revealed that two additional aircraft will soon join the fleet to expand the air ambulance service across the country. The service will be available nationwide, with aircraft dispatched to transport patients wherever needed.

Earlier, a rescue service initiated by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz successfully transported a patient for the first time in Pakistan.

The patient, 40-year-old Halima Bibi from Mianwali, suffered paralysis after falling from a roof. Initially treated at Mianwali’s District Headquarters Hospital, she was referred for further treatment in Rawalpindi. Following Maryam Nawaz’s directive, Halima was airlifted from Mianwali to Rawalpindi within the critical “golden hour.”

Halima’s family expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister, calling her an “angel” for facilitating the transfer. Maryam Nawaz emphasized that quality and timely medical care is a right for all citizens and will be guaranteed. She also announced the launch of Pakistan’s first air ambulance service, urging the nation to pray for Halima’s recovery.

In her inaugural address at the Punjab Assembly, the first female Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz had announced the upcoming launch of the air ambulance service.
