LAHORE – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast primarily dry weather for Lahore and several areas of Punjab, with scattered rain expected in the Potohar region on Sunday night and Monday. According to the PMD, a continental air mass is influencing much of Pakistan, while a westerly wave over the upper regions is expected to intensify by Sunday night. As a result, dry weather is anticipated in most Punjab districts during this period. However, rain and wind are likely in the Potohar region, including Attock, Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, and nearby areas on Sunday night. Isolated rain, wind, and thunderstorms are forecasted for Attock, Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Gujranwala, and Lahore on Monday. Although these rains will be scattered and light, they are expected to reduce smog levels in some areas of the province. Lahore’s minimum temperatures are expected to range between 17-19°C on Monday and 16-18°C on Tuesday. It is also notable that smog has persisted over the past 24 hours in Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sialkot, Hafizabad, Narowal, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Multan, Rahimyar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and surrounding regions.
