LAHORE – The City Kotwali Organized Crime Unit reported that Azam Ali, a notorious criminal with numerous charges of serious crimes, was killed in a shootout with the police, allegedly by the gunfire of his own accomplices, Dunya News reported.
Azam Ali, known for his reign of terror in Sheikhupura, was wanted in several cases including abduction for ransom, murder, attempted murder, and attacks on police officers.
He was being transported to Gujjarpura for a recovery operation when his accomplices launched an attack on the police to free him. During the altercation, Azam Ali was shot and killed by his own associates. Authorities are currently searching for the remaining suspects who managed to flee.
