Court seeks response on Imran Khan’s plea regarding jail facilities

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notices to prison authorities in response to a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan. The petition requests the restoration of newspaper and TV access, permission for telephonic communication with his sons, and medical checkups by his personal doctor.

During Monday’s hearing, PTI chairman’s counsel Faisal Chaudhry argued that the trial court’s January 10, 2025, order failed to address the issue of personal medical care, which the petition seeks to challenge.

IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq has summoned a jail representative to appear in person at the next hearing, scheduled for January 23.
