The Islamabad police have taken strict action against three personnel found guilty of harassing a family in the federal capital, a spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in Sector F-11, where members of the Dolphin Force stopped a family during snap checking and subjected them to harassment.
Following the complaint lodged by the victims, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Syed Ali Raza took notice of the incident, initiated an inquiry, and suspended the officers involved.
An internal investigation revealed that all three officers—Aqib, Ali Haider, and Talha—were guilty of misconduct.
“In light of the inquiry findings, all three personnel were dismissed from service,” the police spokesperson stated.
DIG Operations Syed Ali Raza emphasized that the Islamabad police have zero tolerance for any misuse of authority.
Huge Weapons Cache Seized in Islamabad
In a separate development, the Islamabad police intercepted a large arms consignment being transported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the federal capital.
During a press conference at Tarnol Police Station, SSP Operations and Investigation Arsalan Shahzeb disclosed details of the operation. Police seized a significant cache, including:
- 272 pistols of various calibers
- 20 advanced automatic rifles with magazines
- Over 23,000 rounds of ammunition
- 150 grams of ice (methamphetamine)
- 4.45 kilograms of heroin
The suspect, who has a criminal record and is wanted in eight cases across Punjab, was arrested on the spot. A case has been registered at Tarnol Police Station, and further investigations are ongoing.
SSP Arsalan Shahzeb reaffirmed the Islamabad police’s commitment to combating criminal activities, ensuring the safety and security of citizens as their top priority.
