“Karachi Robbery Shocker: Traders Lose 35 iPhones Worth Rs 6 Million in Broad Daylight Heist”
According to Muhammad Rizwan Irfan, President of the Electronics Market Association, robbers made off with mobile phones worth over 6 million rupees from a trader en route to Rahim Yar Khan after purchasing 35 iPhones.
The victim, traveling from Karachi to Rahim Yar Khan with the phones, was targeted near the Water Pump area.
Irfan revealed that this robbery is part of a worrying trend, with over 15 similar incidents involving traders in recent weeks, raising alarms about safety.
A case has been filed at the Samanabad Police Station in connection with the incident.
This is not the first time traders in Karachi have been targeted by mobile snatchers. Earlier this year, robbers looted cash and box-packed phones from a store in the Z-2 area of Gulshan-e-Maymar. CCTV footage from the robbery shows armed bandits posing as customers before seizing the cash and merchandise worth millions. In a bizarre twist, one of the robbers is seen engaging the shopkeeper in a casual conversation during the heist.
