Man Arrested for Extorting Doctors Using ‘D Company’ Name

HYDERABAD: Police have apprehended a man accused of extorting money from doctors by invoking the name of the infamous Indian underworld group “D Company,” ARY News reported.

The suspect, identified as Muzfar Ahmed Sindhu, was involved in the medicine trade and allegedly used his access to detailed information about doctors to blackmail them. He reportedly made threatening calls, using a woman’s mobile number, to demand extortion money from his targets.

Several prominent doctors lodged complaints, leading to multiple cases being registered against the suspect in police stations across Qasimabad, Cantt, and Hatri. The charges include extortion and issuing threats to life.

Police are actively investigating the case, with further details expected to surface.

“D Company” is a notorious underworld syndicate led by the infamous gangster Dawood Ibrahim. Based originally in Mumbai, India, the group is infamous for illegal activities such as extortion, drug trafficking, arms smuggling, and money laundering. Despite being designated as a terrorist organization, D Company continues to operate from undisclosed locations, maintaining links with various criminal networks.

Similar Incident: Chinese Company Receives Extortion Demand
In a related case, on December 15, a Chinese company working on the Indus Highway in Kashmore-Kandhkot received an extortion demand from a notorious bandit.

According to reports, the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation informed the Sindh government after receiving the threat. The bandit, identified as Budhal, contacted the project manager and demanded Rs5 million, two mobile phones, and a motorcycle, threatening harm to workers if his demands were not met.

The company also reported the issue to the SSP Kashmore and the Deputy Commissioner, expressing dissatisfaction with the local administration’s failure to provide adequate security.
