ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast widespread rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall in the northern regions from February 19 to 21.
This weather system is expected to enhance water availability, support agriculture, and add to the scenic beauty of Pakistan’s northern areas.
According to the Met Office, a frontal weather system will enter the country on February 19, bringing rain, wind, and thunderstorms, along with snowfall over hilly areas in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and parts of Balochistan.
Murree, Galliyat, Naran, Kaghan, Swat, and Skardu are likely to receive fresh snowfall, creating a stunning winter landscape for tourists and adventure seekers.
Meanwhile, Islamabad and key cities in Punjab, including Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot, and Gujranwala, will experience rainfall, improving air quality by reducing pollution.
