Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah reaffirmed the province’s firm stance on safeguarding its water rights, emphasizing that no portion of Sindh’s water would be diverted elsewhere.
Addressing the media in Karachi, Shah stated, “Our position on water rights is clear and unyielding. We will not allow any compromise on Sindh’s rightful share of water. No one will be permitted to take what rightfully belongs to Sindh.”
Discussing the issue of polio, the chief minister vowed to intensify efforts to eradicate the disease from Pakistan. “With 52 polio cases reported nationwide, we must continue the pioneering initiatives launched by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto to eliminate polio,” he said.
Shah also highlighted that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) holds a significant two-thirds majority in the Sindh Assembly.
He added that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari had raised the party’s concerns with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership, urging for these matters to be addressed through dialogue.
Furthermore, Murad Ali Shah stressed the importance of protecting children’s rights, stating, “It is our responsibility to secure a brighter future for our children through better education and healthcare.”
