ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader Omar Ayub Resigns from Judicial Commission

National Assembly Opposition Leader and PTI leader Omar Ayub has stepped down from his role as a member of the Judicial Commission, ARY News reported.

In an official letter to the National Assembly Speaker, Omar Ayub cited legal challenges arising from an FIR against him, which he claimed hinder his ability to fulfill his responsibilities effectively.

To ensure the institution’s continuity, Ayub suggested Barrister Gohar as his replacement, highlighting Gohar’s legal expertise and integrity as key qualities for the role.

He urged swift action on his resignation and the formal nomination of Barrister Gohar to the commission.

Sources confirmed that PTI Chairman Imran Khan has approved the resignations of Omar Ayub and Shibli Faraz from the Judicial Commission and has endorsed Barrister Gohar’s nomination for Ayub’s position.
