Pakistan and China agree to enhance police cooperation

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with his Chinese counterpart, Qi Yanjun, on Wednesday, where both nations agreed to enhance cooperation between the Islamabad Police and Beijing Police.

The two-hour high-level meeting focused on strengthening security collaboration, particularly in modern policing and paramilitary support.

Officials stated that discussions covered various security matters, including enhanced border security cooperation for paramilitary forces. Both sides emphasized the importance of intelligence sharing and leveraging technological advancements in law enforcement.

Detailed talks were also held on acquiring modern police equipment and technology from China to upgrade Pakistan’s police force and enhance operational capabilities.

The meeting reviewed ongoing cooperation with the National Police Academy, expressing satisfaction with the outcomes of the Joint Working Group meeting held in January. Officials highlighted the need for continued collaboration in training and resource sharing to boost law enforcement efficiency.

Minister Naqvi extended an official invitation to Qi Yanjun to visit Pakistan, reaffirming the commitment to deepening security ties between the two nations.
