Prisoners Granted Extended Call Time of Over 1 Hour!

The Punjab government has rolled out new standard operating procedures (SOPs) for prisoners utilizing Public Call Office (PCO) services, offering regulated access for communication with their families and legal advisors.

Under these updated guidelines, prisoners can use PCO facilities from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Saturday, with calls restricted to immediate family members, spouses, and legal representatives.

Each prisoner is allowed up to 80 minutes of call time per week.

Special provisions have been made for women, juvenile offenders, and death-row inmates, with designated PCO booths set up in their respective barracks.

This initiative aims to ensure prisoners can maintain crucial communication while upholding rigorous security protocols.
