PTI delegation holds late-night meeting with Imran Khan at Adiala Jail

Sources confirm that a PTI delegation, comprising three senior leaders, held a late-night meeting with Imran Khan at Adiala Jail. The hour-long meeting focused on updating the PTI founder about the latest developments in ongoing negotiations with the government and discussing the party’s next steps in their protest march.

Amid reports of backchannel talks between the PTI and the government, Barrister Gohar reportedly delivered a message to Imran Khan during the visit. Earlier the same day, Barrister Gohar and Barrister Saif also met Khan for an hour and a half at the jail, discussing critical party matters.

Speaking to journalists afterward, Barrister Gohar described the meeting as “important,” affirming that the decision to proceed with the protest remains unchanged. “The protest has not been called off; it is final,” he stated. Addressing the ongoing negotiations, he expressed optimism, saying, “If talks progress, God willing, we will engage.”

Government Proposes Alternative Protest Site

According to sources, the government has initiated discussions with PTI leaders to propose an alternative protest location. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi reportedly met PTI representatives at the Ministers Enclave to discuss relocating the planned demonstration from D-Chowk to a different area.

Peshawar Morr or another site on Islamabad’s outskirts has been suggested as potential locations, with a key condition that protesters must remain confined to the designated area and avoid advancing toward the Red Zone. The government has stressed that the protest must not disrupt a scheduled business conference with Belarusian investors in the capital tomorrow.

These developments reflect ongoing attempts to de-escalate tensions while ensuring law and order in Islamabad.
