Faisalabad Horror Unfolds: Another Shocking Domestic Violence Case Rocks Punjab
FAISALABAD: In the wake of the horrifying Daska incident, another brutal case of domestic violence has surfaced in Punjab, where a man reportedly tortured his wife with a heated iron rod, according to ARY News.
The suspect, identified as Abid, allegedly burned his wife Sana’s body with the rod and assaulted her with a stick. Despite the ordeal, Sana, a mother of two young girls, managed to escape to her parents’ home, who later admitted her to Allied Hospital for medical treatment.
Sana’s mother filed a formal complaint at the Women’s Police Station, detailing the harrowing abuse. The report stated that both Sana and her sister Rabia were married into the same family to brothers Abid and Atiq. Rabia had earlier sought a divorce (Khula) from Atiq due to incessant taunts about infertility, which reportedly triggered Abid’s violent grudge against Sana.
According to the complaint, Abid routinely subjected Sana to physical violence, kept her imprisoned in their home, and even threatened to kill her.
The Daska Parallel
This incident bears disturbing similarities to the Daska horror unveiled just days earlier. In that case, Zahra Qadeer, a mother of one and seven months pregnant, was brutally murdered by her in-laws while offering prayers. Her father revealed that Zahra’s body was dismembered into 25 pieces, with parts burned to conceal her identity.
Police investigations in the Daska case led to the arrest of four suspects, including Zahra’s mother-in-law Sughra Bibi, who admitted to committing the heinous crime with the help of her daughter and two male relatives.
Both cases highlight the alarming prevalence of domestic violence in Punjab, sparking outrage and calls for justice across the nation.
