RAWALPINDI: Security forces eliminated 12 terrorists in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted in Balochistan’s Kech district and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Wednesday.
“On November 12-13, 2024, security forces launched an IBO in the Miran Shah area of North Waziristan District following reports of the presence of khwarij,” the military’s media wing said.
The statement further mentioned that during the operation, security forces successfully engaged the khwarij’s location, resulting in the deaths of eight terrorists and the injury of six others.
“A sanitization operation is ongoing to eliminate any remaining khwarij in the area, as Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to eradicating terrorism from the country,” the ISPR added.
Earlier, the ISPR had reported the killing of four terrorists, including their leader Sana alias Baru, in an IBO in Kech district, Balochistan. Sana was a key recruiter for the so-called Majeed Brigade, especially for suicide bombers, and was a most-wanted individual by law enforcement agencies.
The statement also confirmed that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed terrorists.
“A sanitization operation is continuing to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area. Pakistan’s security forces, alongside the nation, remain determined to foil attempts to destabilize Balochistan’s peace, stability, and progress,” the ISPR concluded.
Earlier, on October 30, security forces killed eight khwarij in an IBO in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while three army personnel, including a major, were martyred.
