The Chief Minister of KPK claims that the constitutional court is trying to obstruct the path of the PTI.

NOWSHERA: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur criticized the federal government on Wednesday for its plans to amend the Constitution, calling it an attempt to undermine the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

“A constitutional court is being established above the Supreme Court of Pakistan to obstruct the PTI’s progress. They are introducing a constitutional amendment. Despite the use of force against us and the imprisonment of our workers, nothing has been achieved,” he stated.

Gandapur made these remarks while addressing the media in Jalozai, Nowshera district, after launching a low-cost housing scheme under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme.

This housing initiative spans 150 kanals and has been developed at an estimated cost of Rs3.3 billion. It will comprise a total of 1,320 apartments, each covering 780 square feet. The chief minister distributed the keys to 116 residential flats to their new owners.

He emphasized that the PTI remains the most popular party in the country but expressed concern over the propaganda aimed at discrediting it, asserting that even he has been targeted. “PTI is united under the leadership of our founder, Imran Khan. There is no division within PTI; the media is creating misunderstandings,” he insisted.

Regarding the low-cost housing scheme, Gandapur noted that it was originally announced by former Prime Minister Imran Khan. “I have fulfilled the promise made by my leader,” he added.

The scheme is intended for individuals with a monthly income of less than Rs50,000, and the eligibility criteria are verified by Nadra and the Naya Pakistan Housing Authority. In the first phase, 116 apartments have been allotted, with construction on the remaining units ongoing.

The chief minister also inaugurated a sports complex in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Housing Scheme in Jalozai, which was completed at an estimated cost of Rs17 million. The central park covers an area of 42 kanals, with 8 kanals designated for sports facilities. Dr. Amjad Ali, Adviser to the Chief Minister on Housing, also spoke at the ceremony.
