Two fresh cases registered against Bushra Bibi

Two new cases have been registered against Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, in Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur, accusing her of making inflammatory statements to incite hatred, according to ARY News.

The cases, filed under the Telegraph Act of 1885, involve allegations of Bushra Bibi’s remarks aiming to provoke public sentiments. Police confirmed that proceedings are being conducted under Section 126 of the Telegraph Act and other relevant laws.

The complaints claim her statements were intentionally crafted to stir emotions, with one targeting Saudi Arabia and allegedly going against the country’s foreign policy and public interest. The first case was filed in Dera Ghazi Khan by Ghulam Yaseen, while the second was lodged in Rajanpur by a complainant named Hakeem.

PTI Responds:

The PTI has distanced itself from Bushra Bibi’s comments, labeling them as her personal opinion and unrelated to party policy. Party leaders emphasized that Bushra Bibi holds no formal role in PTI and only Imran Khan is authorized to define its stance.

Concerns were reportedly raised within PTI ranks about her statement, with sources clarifying that her remarks should not be misconstrued or taken out of context.

Allegations by Bushra Bibi:

The controversy began after Bushra Bibi accused former COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa of acting under foreign influence. She claimed that after Imran Khan’s barefoot pilgrimage to Madinah, Bajwa allegedly received calls questioning his support for Khan, with remarks such as, “We don’t want such individuals” and “We aim to abolish Sharia in this country, and you have introduced someone like him.”

Bushra Bibi alleged that these events triggered a defamation campaign against her and Imran Khan, with accusations branding him as a “Jewish agent.” She concluded by saying that slander was spread to malign both her and the PTI founder.
