Lahore: Pet Lion Shot Dead After Escaping and Attacking People
LAHORE: A disturbing video has emerged showing a pet lion roaming the streets of Lahore after escaping from its cage, ARY News reported on Saturday.
The incident occurred in the Harbanspura area of Lahore when the lion, which had been kept as a pet, attacked at least three individuals, injuring them before fleeing the residential compound. The lion then made its way to a nearby nullah.
In the video, the lion is seen leaping over a wall and sprinting down the road. After security guards failed to capture the animal, they were forced to shoot it dead.
The lion’s body, covered with a cloth, was later transported on a motorcycle loader, with security guards standing by.
Police have arrested the lion’s owner, Ali Adnan, and registered a case against him.

The trend of keeping big cats as pets has been growing among the affluent, despite the risks involved. Recently, YouTuber Rajab Butt was arrested for carrying firearms in public and keeping a lion cub at his home without a license. Following a raid by police and the Wildlife Department at his residence in Chuhng, the lion cub, which was a wedding gift, was seized.
A spokesperson for Punjab police confirmed that an FIR has been filed against Rajab Butt, who is currently under investigation at a local police station. His extravagant wedding, which included throwing large sums of money at the couple and guests, had already attracted significant social media criticism.
