Reports indicate conflicting statements from police regarding the tragic death of 22-year-old Fatima Bibi, who had been married just two days prior to Azmat, a fellow resident of her village.
According to the initial police report, Fatima accidentally discharged a firearm while recording a TikTok video. However, other sources suggest the fatal shot may have come from an unidentified direction.
The police have sent the body for postmortem and gathered evidence from the scene. Saddar police station’s SHO stated that the exact circumstances will be determined after a detailed investigation.
This incident echoes a similar tragedy in May 2024, when 16-year-old Abdullah Mehmood, a call center employee from Karachi’s Liaquatabad, accidentally shot himself while filming a TikTok video. The Super Market police reported that Abdullah was recording the video with a friend when the pistol misfired, leading to his death on the spot.
